role:
- Team Leadership & Collaboration: Lead a diverse and
collaborative team of UI designers and developers. Foster a culture
of creativity, quality, and continuous learning while ensuring
alignment with business objectives. Partner closely with Platform
Engineering and Application Engineering teams to ensure smooth
cross-functional communication and execution of UI
initiatives.
- UI Strategy & Vision: Define and implement a unified UI
strategy that aligns with ServiceNow's overall product vision and
user experience standards. Ensure consistency and usability across
multiple platforms and devices.
- Design & Development Oversight: Oversee the design process from
concept to execution, ensuring that the user interfaces are
visually appealing, functional, and accessible. Collaborate with
developers to translate design prototypes into high-quality,
responsive code.
- Cross-functional Partnership: Work closely with Platform
Engineering to ensure that UI design and development efforts are
aligned with technical requirements and limitations. Support
Application Engineering in customizing and optimizing UIs based on
specific use cases and user needs.
- User-Centered Approach: Advocate for and apply a user-centered
design process throughout all phases of product development.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to
continuously improve UI/UX.
- Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement: Ensure that the
final UI product meets ServiceNow's high standards for quality,
performance, and accessibility. Identify areas for continuous
improvement and provide mentorship to team members to develop their
skills.Qualifications
- Proven experience (8+ years) in UI design and development, with
at least 2+ years in a management or leadership role, ideally
working with cross-functional teams.
- Strong proficiency in design tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe
XD) and front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Demonstrated experience working with engineering teams to
bridge design and development, ensuring seamless integration of UI
designs into complex technical environments.
- Deep understanding of UI/UX principles, accessibility
guidelines, and responsive design.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate
effectively with both technical and non-technical
stakeholders.
- Experience with Agile development processes and tools (e.g.,
Jira, Confluence).
- Ability to drive change and innovation while balancing the
needs of the business and the user.
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction,
Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work
experience.Nice-to-Have:
- Familiarity with ServiceNow's platform and/or enterprise
software products.
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks (e.g., React,
Angular, Vue.js).
- Experience with design systems and the ability to scale them
