• Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a closely related field. Degree at the time of application or official notification of completion of the doctoral degree by August 1, 2025.
• Specialization in the area of Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics or related fields with focus on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• Demonstrated potential for effective teaching at the college level.
• Record of or demonstrated potential for successful research and scholarly activity.
• Demonstrated commitment to working successfully with a diverse student population, including Black/African American, Latine/x, Native American/Indigenous, low-income, first-generation, and minoritized students.Preferred Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level.
  • Experience in teaching courses in the areas of Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering technology, Electronics or related fields.
  • Demonstrated ability and clear plans for the development of research programs in Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics or related fields with focus on AI and Machine Learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise student thesis and projects.
  • Ability to develop programs and curriculum.
  • Active participant in academic governance.
  • Experience of successfully working with populations demographically and/or socioeconomically similar to the CSULB student body.
  • Experience mentoring or supporting students with minoritized identities or experience using inclusive and culturally relevant teaching strategies in a diverse classroom.Duties:
    • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in, or related to, Computer Engineering Technology, Electronics, as well as fundamental undergraduate courses in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology.
    • Develop programs and curriculum and keep content current.
    • Mentor and advise students.
    • Supervise graduate student theses and projects.
    • Develop and maintain an ongoing research program which complements and enhances research activities in Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology leading to publications and external funding.
